Our Witney group was our 3rd group we launched. The group is a really open space and we enjoy welcoming new people. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

We have regular speakers as well as facilitated conversations on a wide variety of topics. We take great

care in choosing topics that are engaging, relevant and that always give us something useful to take

into own lives.

What happens at a Mahwe evening?

7.30 pm   Arrive, grab a drink from the bar (wine or tea? Take your pick!) and enjoy a relaxing chat

8.00 pm   We open the meeting with a welcome and perhaps some news

8.10 pm   We'll tuck into some food and have a chat, it's a great time to get to know each other and catch up

8.30 pm   We'll listen to a 30 minute talk or we'll start the conversation on a set theme, this will be lead by our chair so you can relax, listen and participate as much or as little as you like.

9.00 pm   On nights when we have a speaker, we'll have time for some questions and a discussion and on conversation evenings, we'll just continue the conversation.

9.30 pm   This often comes too soon! We'll officially close the meeting so that anyone who has a babysitter or needs to shoot off can happily do so. Often some in the group will keep on chatting for a bit longer.

Meet Maya Clarke, Witney Chair

Hi. I’m Maya Clarke. I’m a mother of two boys and I love learning. I’m Co-Director of our family business, I’m also an actress (Maya van Meurs) and former musician with The Deighton Family Band.

Personal development has always interested me, even more so now I am getting older and our boys are growing up.

It’s important to me to be a good example, to never stop learning no matter what age. (I started piano in my late forties, and my acting career sees me learning wonderful things like Tai Chi and accents – it’s always unpredictable and great fun.)

I believe our actions no matter how small can have a huge impact on those around us, we can ignite small positive changes which ripple out and compound.

As well as exercise and healthy eating, it’s vital to invest in our mental health by continually learning, trying new things and connecting with others in a meaningful way. This is why I joined Mahwe. I was looking for ways to help me grow and feed my mind positively.

I feel honoured to chair the Mahwe Witney group and I look forward to meeting and welcoming you at one of our many wonderful evenings. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We look forward to seeing you soon and sharing the fun with you too. :-)

Much love, Bye for now,
