Oxford is our 4th group and it launched in January 2019. We enjoy a lovely evening in a cosy room at The Anchor in the quiet part of Jericho. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

We have regular speakers as well as facilitated conversations on a wide variety of topics. We take great care in choosing topics that are engaging, relevant and that always give us something useful to take into own lives.

What happens at a Mahwe evening?

7.30 pm   Arrive, grab a drink from the bar (wine or tea? The Anchor have a great wine list) and enjoy a relaxing chat

8.00 pm   We open the meeting with a welcome and perhaps some news

8.10 pm   We'll tuck into some food and have a chat, it's a great time to get to know each other and catch up

8.30 pm   We'll listen to a 30 minute talk or we'll start the conversation on a set theme, this will be lead by our chair so you can relax, listen and              participate as much or as little as you like.

9.00 pm   On nights when we have a speaker, we'll have time for some questions and a discussion and on conversation evenings, we'll just continue the conversation.

9.30 pm   This often comes too soon! We'll officially close the meeting so that anyone who has a babysitter or needs to shoot off can happily do so. Often some in the group will keep on chatting for a bit longer.

The Anchor

We enjoy a variety of simple dishes which are primarily vegetarian. There are also options to suit your individual dietary requirements.
