LIFE & DEATH: Out of death I have become alive

There is nothing which quite compares to a near-death experience, when it comes to understanding the value of life.

I had such a journey into another world very young. It has given meaning, direction and purpose to my life and shaped my career. Without it, I would never have become a psychotherapist or director of a school of psychotherapy. However, visions of a divine world beyond this one at a young age leave many questions unanswered. I sought for guidance as a child and found all of it unhelpful.

Christian priests and nuns had things they believed, but no knowledge. I knew things. They did not know. I was thirty before I found a guru to teach me, baba Muktananda. It was he who wrote a book called "Out of death I have become alive" which contains much of his thought. It is printed and titled in the west as "I have become alive," since a western audience is not very open to death.

I am endlessly grateful that late on in life, nearly forty years after his death I am still guided by him in developing my work on deeper mindfulness, which helps people with issues of birth, living and dying. I will be guided by group members as to what aspects we explore in the February meeting.
