About The Event

Join our Banbury group for an important evening exploring how to empower ourselves to support the climate action. Thalia Carr will share some valuable ideas and guide us through a thoughtful session and conversation.

CLIMATE CHANGE: Acceptance, compassion and empowerment

We’ll face up to how it makes us feel and work out ways to manage those feelings and be empowered to act.

This is going to be an evening of emotions – anger, optimism, fear, hope and empowerment – we’ll probably touch on them all.

We won’t be going into the science of climate change. If you’re in any doubt that climate change is happening and it needs an urgent response please watch David Attenborough’s ‘Climate Change, the Facts’ on Netflix, visit NASA’s Global Climate

Change site or ex chief scientist for the Government, Sir David King (links below).

What we will be doing, is thinking how the fact of climate change affects us now – emotionally and day to day, what we can expect and then how we can manage those feelings and take some meaningful practical steps.

What better place to discuss a topic like this than among friends who will be supportive and encouraging, not pointing the finger but recognising we’re all in this together?

More about Thalia Carr, Thalia Carr Coaching

Thalia is a development coach working in the Sustainability both one to one and with teams. After working for 10 years on behavioural change within Sustainability in local government, she left, somewhat disappointed at the amount of change that she’d been able to bring about. She now helps Sustainability professionals to achieve confidence and be effective, overcoming everything that holds them back from excellence. In a voluntary capacity she is involved with Low Carbon groups and is proud to call herself a rebel as part of the Extinction Rebellion movement.
