About The Event
Join us for our first Abingdon meet up of 2019 and hear a talk by Anna Pitt entitled 'Cars, bras and brassicas – a story about habit and waste'.
Anna's talk will cover how to reduce waste in your daily life and what difference that makes to the planet.
About Anna Pitt
Anna is passionate about reducing waste and helping people and organisations to move towards a circular economy. Over ten years ago now, her family decided they’d ditch the dustbin and try to banish all non-recyclable packaging from their lives. They failed, of course, but in trying, they learnt plenty and seriously reduced the amount of waste they produce, so much so, that they put their bin out just once a year.
Anna has written two books on waste reduction: 101 Ways to Live Cleaner and Greener for Free and Leftover Pie: 101 ways to reduce your food waste and works as a speaker and consultant for Rachelle Strauss' Zero Waste Week. She gives talks, demonstrations and drop-in sessions in schools, clubs and businesses to find workable solutions to waste worries.
