About The Event
Join our Abingdon group for a thought-provoking evening exploring our place in the world and what personal leadership means to us.
PERSONAL LEADERSHIP: My place in a changing world
A couple of generations ago, the aspiration for most people was to be a decent person. Decency was a value that was highly regarded. Over the past few years, the idea of leadership has grown considerably and we often hear about personal leadership. But what is a leader anyway? Do we need to be special to be a leader? Do we need eloquence and charisma?
In a world where people at the top drive more inequality, promote 'us vs them' and hold back climate action, can we wait for them to change and lead differently? It is now time for us to educate ourselves so we can make better decisions and become proactive agents for positive change. Do we need to awaken the leader within? But how do we balance that with all the responsibilities we already have? How do we feel about making changes in our lives that perhaps those around us are not ready to make or don't understand? How do we feel about 'It's just me... what difference can I make'?
This evening is an opportunity to delve into the topic of leadership. We'll have the chance to discuss, share ideas, ask questions, expand our thinking about the role that each of us plays.
