About The Event

Join our Abingdon group for a thought-provoking talk by Kate Parkin.

MINIMALISM: Leading a curated life

For me, Minimalism is an entirely personal experience and in this talk I won’t try to convince you that painting all your rooms white and owning nothing but spider plants will make you happy. I won’t tell you that you’re only a good person if you buy second hand clothes and you can only buy them when the clothes you have are falling apart.  I also won’t be talking about how you should be vegan and only buy your food from your local organic farm, otherwise you’re destroying the environment.

What I will be talking about is how I used Minimalism to strip away the layers of convention, culture, social media and peer pressure to figure out what was important to me. My self development journey started with Minimalism so for me it is really the foundation on which I’ve build my life.

About Kate Parkin

By profession, I’m an osteopath and I run a small practise in Oxfordshire specialising in sports injuries. I grew up in Zimbabwe and South Africa and moved to the UK when I was 18.  I studied in Oxford and started my business straight after graduating because no one offered me a job that I wanted.  In my spare time I love walking my adopted greyhound Ranger, doing puzzles, weightlifting, drinking red wine, eating cheese and of course decluttering.
