We launched our very first group in Abingdon in January 2018. The group is a really open space and
we enjoy welcoming new people. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
We have regular speakers as well as facilitated conversations on a wide variety of topics. We take great
care in choosing topics that are engaging, relevant and that always give us something useful to take
into own lives.
What happens at a Mahwe evening?
7.30 pm Arrive, grab a drink from the bar (wine or tea? Take your pick!) and enjoy a relaxing chat
8.00 pm We open the meeting with a welcome and perhaps some news
8.10 pm We'll tuck into some food and have a chat, it's a great time to get to know each other and catch up
8.30 pm We'll listen to a 30 minute talk or we'll start the conversation on a set theme, this will be lead by our chair so you can relax, listen and participate as much or as little as you like.
9.00 pm On nights when we have a speaker, we'll have time for some questions and a discussion and on conversation evenings, we'll just continue the conversation.
9.30 pm This often comes too soon! We'll officially close the meeting so that anyone who has a babysitter or needs to shoot off can happily do so. Often some in the group will keep on chatting for a bit longer.

Meet Kate Parkin,
I’m Kate, a real-life osteopath, CrossFit enthusiast, growth seeker, occasional crocheter and greyhound lover! I’ve realised that self development is not something that happens with a thunderclap, it has to be an intentional practise.
I joined Mahwe to help me practise, but the unexpected side effect was that I found my tribe. A group of people who were interested in pushing themselves to be the best they could and supporting each other on their journeys. I was honoured to be asked to lead a group and I am so excited to watch and learn as we all grow together.
